Lake Minnetonka Magazine's 2022 Year in Review. Readers wanted to meet their neighbors this past year.

It took Craig Eiler three visits and many hours of waiting last July to capture his photo, Here Comes the Train. Minnetonka resident Eiler frequently visits Wayzata and has been to the Wayzata Depot & Museum many times.

Over the years, when filmmakers from Hollywood and elsewhere have shot in Minnesota, one of their favorite locations has been Lake Minnetonka. The most recent example was the Fox Searchlight comedy-drama movie Wilson, which was released earlier this year.

Local photographer Anna Williams perfectly captured Lake Minnetonka’s summer bliss in her photo “Peaceful Moment.” She took the snap in 2016 on Lafayette Bay, with Big Island in the distance.

The Excelsior Fire District plays a vital role in the Lake Minnetonka community. From saving lives to spreading knowledge about fire prevention, they do it all.

Tom Anderson’s parents raised five children in their Saint Paul-area home, where his mother, 86, still lives. It isn’t unreasonable to think that Mrs. Anderson had some sleepless nights, worrying about a child here or there.
