Caroline Klohs, from Minnetonka Beach, studied public relations at the University of Minnesota, where she took two photography classes. After discovering her passion for photography during those courses, Klohs dug in to a new lifelong hobby.
Klohs captured this photo on her iPhone 6 on a sunny day in Crystal Bay on Lake Minnetonka. She decided to snap the photo because the scene included two of her favorite things: Prince (the Minnesota music icon passed away in April 2016) and Lake Minnetonka.
“This photo reminds me of a perfect summer day on Lake Minnetonka and how Prince is always shining down on us,” says Klohs. The photo features one of Prince’s iconic quotes from his Purple Rain video, on Crystal Bay’s historic Arcola Bridge.
“Prince was so proud to be from Minnesota, and I love how his legacy will live on through moments like this,” Klohs says.
A bridge, a lake and a musician as iconic as these make for a photo that perfectly captures the best of Minnesota.
