For the past 10 years, Scott Knight of Knight Family Farms, which specializes in old-fashioned horse and buggy rides, has been offering buggy rides through downtown Excelsior to ring in the holiday season.

Colonial Square in Wayzata is bringing back a popular holiday tradition: Santa and his reindeer will be outside in early December to welcome guests at the retail center. The event was well-attended last year, and organizers are planning on another large turnout.

For the first time, Boo Fest will be taking over Grand Avenue, replacing what was formerly known as Grand Harvest.

It’s a party and fashion extravaganza tailor made to celebrate cancer survivors and help those who are currently facing cancer challenges in their lives.

The days of chalkboards, projectors and whiteboards are gone. Technology has taken leaps in recent years, and in turn, has changed the way students learn. Tablets and smart boards have replaced teaching tools that now seem old-fashioned. Learning how computers work seems to be the next step.

Lake Minnetonka may be under a no wake restriction, but Excelsior Girl’s Night Out will be making waves in downtown Excelsior on July 3 and 4.            

Excelsior residents and Minnetonka High School alumni celebrate two landmark events on July 26: the fourth all-class, all-school reunion for Minnetonka High School and the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones concert at Danceland in Excelsior.
