The Orono Foundation for Education’s annual Red and Blue Bash was held at the Lafayette Club in April and raised $315,000 to benefit Orono schools.  The sold out Vegas-style event was attended by 450 guests for food, casino games, an auction and more.

This month, pack up the kids and head out to Minnetrista for Gale Woods Farm’s annual breakfast on the farm event.

Last year’s Wine on Wayzata Bay fundraiser for Wayzata Sailing included beloved elements like a wine tasting, snacks, music and boat rides until sunset. This year’s bash is on June 28—watch for more info in next month’s issue of Lake Minnetonka Magazine.

In February, the Hopkins Education Foundation hosted its annual royal bash to benefit Hopkins Public Schools. The evening included a program, an auction, dancing, great food and more at the Marriott Minnetonka Southwest.

The Festivities showroom in Minnetonka hosted a monthly Twin Cities Wedding & Event Professionals venue spotlight. Event planners, florists, caterers and other industry pros gathered to network and learn about other local businesses and venues.

Hopkins welcomed new bookstore-taproom-coffee shop combo Cream & Amber at its grand opening celebration in February.

In September, Minnetonka High School rolled out its annual homecoming parade to celebrate the MHS community. Photographer Jim Douglas says the parade drew the biggest crowd he can remember. “The crowd was nine deep along Water Street.”

Jingle and Mingle for Minnetonka Choirs was held in November at Olive’s Fresh Pizza Bar in Excelsior.

St. George Catholic Church has been bringing Corn Days to life for 47 years. With food from a long list of vendors, entertainment, games and—of course—corn, it’s no wonder Long Lake’s Corn Days festival is such a big hit.
