Make Your Own Mosaic Birdbath

Nothing tells you it’s springtime quite like the return of our favorite summer birds. Lure them (and art lovers) to your backyard with a mosaic made from an upcycled lamp. Learn how to line a terra cotta saucer with broken glass to make a unique design and then hang your masterpiece for the world to see. Irish Heritage at the Hill House

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the historic James J. Hill House is giving a nod to the history of Irish-Americans in Minnesota. Both James Jerome Hill and his wife Mary Theresa Mehegan were of Irish decent, along with many of the household servants. Hear stories of the mansion’s former occupants in themed tours that include Irish songs, organ music and needlework demonstrations. History Forum: Wounded Knee

This edition of the Minnesota Historical Society’s history forum series explores how the political climate of late 1890s led to the Wounded Knee massacre in South Dakota. Reflecting on this sobering moment in U.S. history, Heather Cox Richardson of Boston University will discuss the dangers of polarized politics in America. Urban Expedition: Indonesia

The Landmark Center’s Urban Expedition series allows participants to travel the world without leaving Saint Paul.
