Caring Youth Recognition

Minnetonka, in conjunction with Golden Valley and Hopkins, recognizes inspiring youth each year. Congratulate them along with the Minnetonka and Hopkins school districts, as well as the Glen Lake Optimists. A “caring youth” identifies a need in his or her community and volunteers to make a difference. A selection committee votes on nominees. Read more about Caring Youth Recognition

Luck o’ the Lake 5K Run

Channel the luck of the Irish on the day o’ the green (or close to it). Sponsored by the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce and Jake O’Connors, the 5K Fun Run invites all participants to celebrate St. Patty’s Day. The Commons Workplace will be on hand to offer complimentary beverages post-race, as well as pre- and post-run yoga sessions. Runners are encouraged to fundraise, and all proceeds benefit the Excelsior Fourth of July fund and other Excelsior events.  Read more about Luck o’ the Lake 5K Run

FARE Walk for Food Allergy, Minneapolis

The Fare Walk for Food Allergy brings together thousands of people seeking a safer world for the 15 million Americans with food allergies. The walk is a family-friendly event that will raise funds for food allergy research, education, advocasy and awareness. This special day in Minneapolis will include fun activities for the entire family. HERO Dog Product Launch

HERO, a new Minnetonka-based pet product company is launching a line of “HERO” products to raise awareness, money and hope for rescue dogs.  The company, which will donate a percentage of profits to rescue dog causes, is launching the brand through a crowdfunding IndieGoGo campaign that kicks off February 22 at Bubbly Paws at Excelsior and Grand. Sizzle for a Cause

It’s time for the second annual Iron Chef style cooking competition to benefit IOCP. Enjoy fare from participating restaurants, beer and wine tasting from Excelsior Brewery and Team Liquor. Celebrity judges will choose which local chef is deserving of “The Golden Cleaver”. Bring non-perishable food items to receive an extra raffle ticket. Space is limited. Mr. Wayzata Pageant Benefit

See your favorite Wayzata fellas strut their stuff for a worthy cause. The Mr. Wayzata Pageant features classic pageant segments including talent and “question and answer” portions. Dream Makers Event

Make Minnetonka school dreams come true. Now in its 11th year, Dream Makers is the largest community event benefitting Minnetonka schools. Bid on items in silent and live auctions, feast on ballpark fare courtesy of Delaware North Sportservice, hear an inspirational program and commemorate Twins great Harmon Killebrew.
