Mimic: Modern Marbled Objects
Mimic examines the history and craft of paper marbling, from book arts origins to present day 3D sculpture, fine art, and other decorative objects. The exhibition includes twenty local and international artists. At the closing reception on October 3 (6-8 p.m.), visiting masters of marbling Regina and Dan St. John of Chena River Marblers will give an artist talk (7 p.m.). Veterans Day Salute
The Lake Minnetonka Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will honor veterans at its annual Veterans Day Salute to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion of Normandy during World War II. The program will feature a performance of big band and patriotic music by the Minnetonka Civic Orchestra, along with inspirational speakers including Bronze Star Medal recipient, U.S. Air Force Major General Maureen Banavige and Vietnam Veteran, Gary Nash, who will share thoughts on the D-Day anniversary. The pine grove at Belwin Conservancy serves as both inspiration and the location for this unique two-day musical performance event. Silent Film, Live Music at the Walker Art Center

Irish Fair in St. Paul
Preserve, cultivate and celebrate the rich Irish heritage along the Mississippi River by delving into authentic dishes, listening to live music and watching Irish dancers perform.
