Excelsior Art on the Lake is a high profile event and enjoys a loyal following of 18,000+ art admirers, collectors and buyers. One Voice Mixed Chorus Presents: Generation

One Voice Mixed Chorus presents Generation, a concert exploring intergenerational relationships across our LGBTQ+ community. With a particular focus on queer youth and elders, the concert weaves together powerful stories of identity, change, and resilience. The concert also premieres a new composition by McKnight composer, Nathan Hall. “Love, Death, What Else?!” is based on stories from elders at the Spirit on the Lake LGBTQ elder apartments. The Holiday Classic Nutcracker with Live Orchestra

Don't miss this holiday tradition. Minnesota’s 16th annual Nutcracker featuring a full, live symphony orchestra. The classic story comes to life with fresh choreography and a cast of talented artists under the direction of Erik Sanborn of the Metropolitan Ballet. The brilliant ballet score is masterfully performed live by the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Yuri Ivan. A family favorite that's delightful for all ages. Featuring Broadway star Giuseppe Bausilio as the Nutcracker Prince and ballerina Natalia Sheptalova as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Excelsior Library's 100th Anniversary Celebration

Join us for the Excelsior Library 100th Anniversary Celebration featuring live music by Licorice Stix clarinet ensemble 10am to noon. Coffee and pastries served in the morning followed by a cake cutting in the afternoon. Family-friendly activities and door prize drawings throughout the day. Stop by and receive a free Hennepin County Library card. Sponsored by the Friends of the Excelsior Library and Kowalskis.

James J. Hill Days

Since 1975 the weekend following Labor Day in Wayzata has been dedicated to honoring James J. Hill, Minnesota historic figure and once owner of the Great Northern Railroad Company. Hill, builder of the present train depot in 1906, contributed significantly to transform Wayzata into the beautiful tourist location and friendly community we know today. James J. Hill Days is Lake Minnetonka’s favorite community tradition, as highlighted by its recent “Best Of” Lake Minnetonka award. Read more about James J. Hill Days
