Discover ART -- A springtime tour of artists' home studios in the Lake Minnetonka area
A group of artists around Lake Minnetonka will be opening their home studios to the public on Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1, 2016. It is a perfect time of year for people to enjoy a springtime drive, to discover inspiring and beautiful art, and to see first-hand the studios where artists create. The hours are 10 – 6 Saturday, and 10 – 5 Sunday.
There will be 23 artists in eight locations. Participating studios are located in Deephaven, Excelsior and Minnetonka. Information on each artist can be found on the Tour's web site.
The web site includes a map, so visitors can locate the studios and plan a driving route for their self-guided tour.
An annual art tour has become a tradition in the community. During the Lake Minnetonka Studio Tour visitors will discover a variety of styles and mediums including painting, ceramics, fiber, jewelry, wood, glass and more. They can find a unique gift for Mother's Day, or a new work of art to enhance their home, buying directly from the artist who created the work.
An open studio format is a great opportunity for artists to share their creative passion with the community, in an atmosphere that is inviting and informative. Artists will be happy to answer questions about their work and the creative process. They look forward to welcoming art-lovers throughout the weekend of the tour.
