 Fifty years ago, this comic-tragedy came to Broadway as the first ever musical within a play.  Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ timeless 1615 masterpiece Don Quixote, Man of La Mancha tells the compassionate account of the crusade of an eccentric idealist in the hostile, greedy, and cynical world of the Spanish Inquisition.  At times both inspiring and thought-provoking, this story and soaring musical score warm the hearts of all who have cheered for the underdog against all odds.  It also challenges the audience to “Dream the Impossible Dream”, making the world a better place than they found it - a challenge just as relevant today as it was in the 1600s.
