Set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, this modern-day melodrama takes us on a hilarioius ride, while confronting some very real issues as the characheters respond to the "foreigner" in their midst. A British demolition expert, a pathologically shy young man, a two-faced minister, a rich young woman and her brother, a local redneck property inspector, and the woman who owns the lodge make up this eclectic cast. Originally producced by the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, "The Foreigner" moved to New York City in 1984, winning two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards.
