A special reception to celebrate "the power of art and community for individuals living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia" will be held at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts June 6, organizers say.

From 3-6 p.m., participants from the Memory Cafe and Dementia-Friendly City Initiative, as well as their family and friends, will be invited to view the new exhibit. A reception for the general public will from 6-8 p.m.

The exhibit stems from an initiative at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts called Shared Stories Art Experiences, a multidisciplinary class giving people living with dementia the chance to be involved in creating art.
