Love Local: Summer Edition

Gather your family and join Madeline Garcia, MCBA's education and community engagement coordinator, for a virtual workshop! You’ll learn how to make three summer-inspired pop-up cards to send to your loved ones this summer. Fun and accessible to many developmental levels, this workshop is open to all ages. Begin your Fourth of July with a Revolutionary "Flying Pancake Breakfast" at the Wayzata Depot! A festive celebration for patriots of all ages!

Enjoy a memorable Flying Pancake Breakfast!

Guests will "catch 'em if they can" pancakes tossed from the grill. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, and a cold drink. Breakfast is $8 (cash or checks only) at the door. U.S. Veterans eat free. At 10 a.m., a short ceremony and flag raising including rifle salute will be conducted. Staying in the Fight

Representative John Lewis, a civil rights activist who fought alongside Dr. King called on all Americans to get in the fight and stay in the fight. In this program, influential Black leaders discuss their groundbreaking work: delivering innovative solutions all the while challenging activists and allies alike to get in and stay in the fight for racial equity. HBCU Legacy of Leadership

From Dr. King to Kamala Harris, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) produce Black American leaders and legends who advance our society. This panel discussion will explore the origin story of HBCUs, how they are critical to the health of our communities, and how local civil rights leaders like Roy Wilkins and Marvel Cook advocated for HBCUs in the North. Acting on Dr. King’s Call

How does Dr. King’s message regarding “creative maladjustment” relate to generations of institutional racism faced by African Americans? Three local leaders explore how Black Minnesotans have refused to normalize injustice and inequality and are responding today with action, innovation, and persistence. Fifth Annual Car Show

Join the St. Croix Valley community at Heppner’s Auto Body for their fifth annual car show. Enjoy a variety of classic cars, music and free food.
