Preparing holiday meals can be one more thing in a stressful holiday season, so we’ve called on Colette Flynn to help with some of the heavy lifting. The woman behind Minnetonka’s own Catered by Colette has provided three easy appetizer recipes you can make before your guests arrive for the party, saving you time and a few more gray hairs in the process.
The annual Arts of the Holidays Show & Sale is a juried collection of unique, hand-made art and fine craft selected with an eye toward holiday gift giving. Work in the show will include: glass, jewelry, painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking, wood, fiber art, and multi-media.
Today is Give to the Max Day, a day when local non-profits are looking for your donations to help raise funds in one giant giving event. To further spur competition, the top fund-raising non-profits will take home bonuses. Every hour, one random donor will be chosen to win a $1,000 Golden Ticket bonus for their organization, with a grand prize $10,000 Golden Ticket to be given out at the end of the day.
This month, Minnetonka High School will continue to take theatre to new heights with Dracula – The Musical. This thrilling musical romance will run on the Arts Center on 7 Main Stage from Nov. 4–19.

From October 31 to November 5, sisters LaRae and Corrine Anderson welcome the public to shop for handmade goodies at LaRae's home in Minnetonka. The sale features about 30 artists this year, with 11 fresh new names to round out the selection.
Long Lake will be crawling with art lovers next weekend at the Long Lake Area Art Crawl, Oct. 28–29. Discover paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics, fused and stained glass, handmade purses, hand-knit accessories, henna and many more items. From now through Aug. 30, help a local child get school-ready by donating school supplies to ResourceWest. Their annual supply drive helps more than 1,200 students in the Hopkins and Minnetonka school districts ensure they have a successful start to the school year.
Calling all dog lovers! Make a beeline for Mound this Saturday and take part in the inaugural Dog Days Westonka from 8 a.m.–2 p.m., along Auditors Road.
The day’s events include contests, entertainment, and a Pet Expo with demonstrations and seminars given by pet professionals. There will be an “Ask the Vet” question-and-answer booth, pet adoptions, pet services including a microchip clinic, and more. The event is free, but participants are asked to bring a pet food donation.
