Five women’s health tips from Park Nicollet Minnetonka.

Since October is National Women’s Health Month, we spoke with Dr. Andrea Messina, OBGYN, from the Park Nicollet Clinic in Minnetonka for a few healthy living tips to keep us fellow women out of the doctor’s office:

  1. Maintain a healthy, well-balanced diet by increasing whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and decreasing saturated fats and trans fats.
  2. Hand in hand with a well-balanced diet comes exercise: Exercise three times a week with a combination of cardio and weights.
  3. Never forget about nutritional support! Many women in Minnesota have been found Vitamin D deficient, so a supplement may help increase bone health.
  4. Find a doctor who you can trust, and see that physician regularly for checkups.
  5. Make sure your physician is current and up-to-date with medical procedures and guidelines!
