Along Excelsior’s Lake Linden Drive, a beautiful log home is nestled on the hillside. In a fun twist, the building isn’t a home anymore: It’s a health campus, including Kelly Bosworth’s dental practice.

Standing in front of Andrea and Dan DeMuth’s Long Lake home, it’s impossible to guess what lies behind their abode. It’s not a pool or a garden but their very own golf course.

Move over Fido and Fluffy: There are a few new pets in town. Lake Minnetonka owners show creativity and practicality picking out pets that complement their taste and lifestyle.

Snapping a picture of Tucker was not an easy feat. “He doesn’t sit still much,” says Al Whitaker, the photographer and owner of the 1-year-old Morkie, a Maltese and Yorkshire terrier mix.

Whenever Ed Hewitt III is out for a self-described “mini adventure” walk or ride, he tries to remember to bring along his camera. “Every day I see something that would be a great picture, a wonderful image—and of course, no camera,” he says. But all that changed in mid-March last year.

February is often only the midway point in a Minnesota winter. By now, bracing against frigid temperatures and scraping snow and ice from your frozen windshield may be wearing you down.

She doesn't remember the day or month in which it was taken, but Anastasiya Bannie remembers how she felt when she photographed Calming Morning on Lake Minnetonka.

“It was so peaceful,” she says. “I had this beautiful feeling and I wanted to remember it.”

During their travels to Italy, Bob, Monica, Sherry and Thaddeus Diedrich brought along a copy of Lake Minnetonka Magazine as they toured the Grand Canal in Venice.

 

During a summer study abroad trip to Morocco, Alex Davis found the inspiration that would later propel her to create her own line of boots. “Morocco on a rudimentary level is an amazing culture,” Davis says, who was raised in Minnetonka.

Tyler and Mitchell Harris spent a summer taking classes at the Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. They’ve taken an online course from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and participated in classes at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
