Three years ago, Nancy Boone Muller decided garage sales were not solely for Minnesota’s sunniest season. Rather, they can be held year-round. “It’s much more convenient. Not just for myself, but for customers. They can access it any time on any day, no matter what the weather is,” Muller says.
Haven Maven began as an Excelsior shop in 2011, moved to an at-home store and now solely exists on a Facebook page. With a click of the mouse, shoppers can purchase home décor items sold from Muller’s inventory. Once a customer views an item they are interested in, they message Muller and schedule a convenient time to pick up the item at her home. Muller receives items from family and friends, rummages through her own house, shops at garage sales and picks up items off the street to provide a constantly revolving stock.—Kelly Butorac
