Ninety years and $2.5 million later, Wayzata Community Church’s (WCC) annual rummage sale is back and bigger than ever. The sale began in 1921 with a few women from the Ladies’ Aid Society and has since grown into a community-wide event. Last year, more than 600 volunteers contributed 27,000 hours to make the church fundraiser a possibility. WCC and community members brought in countless items for the sale—and this year’s fun gets underway this month.
The sale is a self-funded charity event, which donates one-third of the proceeds to the Wayzata Community Church, and the rest to local, national and international organizations. This year will mark the retirement of Dena Naylor, the sale’s director since 1996. Stop by and find a treasure or two.
