Minnetonka’s Kelsey Vercruysse danced her way through high school and college, has been coaching for 10 years (including for Minnetonka High School’s performance dance team), and decided to start her own studio, Just for Kix. Vercruysse teaches dance classes for children ages 3 to 18, and most classes are held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Excelsior and South Shore Community Center in Shorewood. “We offer proven technical training, a focus on teamwork and a respectful experience to our students,” says Vercruysse. “We create an environment that is low-stress and less pressure for both the parents and the dancers.” Dance is a great way for kids to burn some energy during the long winter, and it’s rewarding for everyone involved. “Being able to empower young dancers and watch them grow is such a blessing,” Vercruysse says.
