Tips from Empower Chiropractic for a Healthier Season

You know the drill: Eat more fruits and veggies (and stay away from processed foods and refined sugars) to feel better in the new year.

Since opening in March 2015, Empower Chiropractic has helped local residents with health issues ranging from immune system deficiencies to joint pain. Doctor of chiropractic Brittany Mulder, who co-owns the practice with doctor of chiropractic Madalyn Raasch, shares some tips and tricks for staying healthy during the frigid Minnesota winter months.

Mulder suggests that patients, including kids, get regular chiropractic adjustments to help boost the immune system and fight off bacteria and viruses. She also recommends taking a vitamin D supplement. “Most people are deficient in vitamin D, which can lead to decreased immune function, disrupted melatonin regulation, depression and much more,” says Mulder.

Empower sees a lot of patients during the winter months who are dealing with influenza and joint pain. Mulder suggests that patients eat a lot of fresh vegetables and stay away from processed foods and refined sugars to help support the immune system.
