As a practicing psychologist for 20 years, Rachel Awes has heard many stories of adults struggling with self-acceptance. The author and self-proclaimed ”art playgroundist” was inspired to write her third book by a few aha moments as well as some themes from the human heart and what she believes it thirsts for.
In The Great Green Okayness: A Field Guide to Seeing Your Uncommon Magnificence, Awes shares 63 short prose stories and colorful illustrations to help readers embrace themselves. “I hope my books help people rest a little more deeply into the joy of being who they are,” she says.
Awes’ book, released by Wise Ink Creative Publishing, can be found at the the Bibelot Shops, Groundswell cafe and select Barnes & Noble stores.
