Mound Celebrates Centennial and Spirit of the Lakes

Celebrate both Mound’s Centennial and Spirit of the Lakes this month.
Artist and Mound resident Bruce Miller created this original work of art to commemorate the city's 100th anniversary.

As if the fun and excitement of the Spirit of the Lakes festival wasn’t enough of a reason to celebrate life on the western shores of Lake Minnetonka, this year’s extended festival has the privilege of also ushering in Mound’s Centennial.

The fun kicks off with a Wellness Weekend July 13–15 with triathlons, 5K and 10K runs, volleyball tournament, skate park competition, health talks, fishing clinics, Zumba classes, and more to get you out and moving. Ridgeview Medical Center is also offering free health screenings July 13.

The fun starts again on Wednesday, July 18. For the duration of the festival, many events will be held at Surfside Park and Beach, formerly Mound Bay Park. From beer tasting and the West Side Auto Car Show to Mound Historical Bus Tours and Music in the Park, there is fun to be had for the whole family.
