Muddy Feet Farm in Minnetrista continues to expand and offer healthy eating options for members. This summer, the farm’s community-supported agriculture (CSA) program will offer members traditional shares as well as ayurvedic shares. Ayurveda is a philosophy of longevity with historical roots in India, and it is becoming more known in our area, says Stephanie Stillman, founder of Muddy Feet Farm. “In ayurveda, the idea is to feel full of vitality, and what we eat and how we eat fuels our vitality.” The ayurvedic CSA differs from the traditional share by not offering any plants of the nightshade family (potatoes, tomatoes and peppers) or onions, and limits the amount of pungent foods, such as radishes and mustard greens. Stillman hopes to offer ayurvedic cooking classes and health consultations by 2017, when she begins transitioning the farm to a resource for holistic health and living. Muddy Feet Farm offers drop-off locations in St. Louis Park and Golden Valley, as well as at the farm in Minnetrista.
