When Fresh Seasons closed its doors, the community of Glen Lake was left without a local grocery option. In June, Glen Lake’s Market opened in the space where the former store once operated.
“We’ve had people saying how great it is to have a local grocer again,” says general manager Alan Commins.
Commins moved to the area to work at Glen Lake’s Market. He says what sets the grocery store apart from others is the people.
“We run the store for the community and that’s who we’re here for,” Commins says. “We focus on customer service.”
The store offers an assortment of bulk products, including flour, nuts, oats, granola, candy, spices and more.
According to Commins, about 50 to 60 percent of the products the market offers are natural, organic and non-GMO.
