In recognition of its 50th anniversary, the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society has invited the community to a celebration and fundraiser to be held on October 10, 7 p.m.–10 p.m. at the Pique Travel Event Space, 306 Water St., Excelsior, MN.
This entertaining evening will include a light-hearted look at the Society’s past as seen from the future with playwright and screenwriter Jeffrey Hatcher (“Glensheen,” “The Good Liar”). Laughs will be shared over what was happening in Excelsior, around Lake Minnetonka and beyond in 1972. The Society’s founders and volunteers will also be celebrated during the event. The evening will include a 1972 costume contest, live and silent auctions, appetizers, desserts and a cash bar.

About the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society: Founded in 1972, the Society collects, preserves and shares the history of Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood and Tonka Bay. The Society’s Archives and Museum house one of the largest collections of Lake Minnetonka historical artifacts, documents and photographs in the area.
