Bring the Farm Indoors

This winter, the Minnetonka Farmers Market moves indoors to the Minnetonka Community Center, with a surprising bounty—even in the presumed off season—of vendors and products. City of Minnetonka communications coordinator Justin Pelegano says he expects a couple dozen vendors selling food, cards, gifts and more. In addition, attendees can catch live music from ART Dept and check out a local library booth with activities for kids and adults. Make a morning of it with coffee and pastries, and wander the market in the comfort of central heating. Read more about Bring the Farm Indoors

Tapping History Presentation: The Diaries of Lydia Ferguson, Excelsior Pioneer

Much of what we know about early Lake Minnetonka history comes from the pages of this frail woman’s diaries. She recorded it all, from 1854-1886, in a clear eyed chronicle which includes her own family’s tale of suffering, insanity, death, love, endurance and guts. The Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society presents a sepia tone-free view of the past in Lydia Ferguson’s own words.
