Dueling Fishing Competitions This Spring on Lake Minnetonka

Dust off your fishing pole for this year’s annual lake-area crappie contests.

Participants in the 2013 Lions Lake Minnetonka Crappie Contest will take to the waters April 20 at BayView Event Center. Catch the largest fish and you’ll win $150, or enter the raffle for more great prizes. The cost is $5 for early registration and $10 the day of the event. On May 4, Minnesota Bound will host its 45th annual Crappie Contest at Lord Fletcher’s. Prizes like fishing trips and shopping sprees will be awarded for the 10 largest crappies by weight in both adult and youth divisions. The cost is $5 for early registration, $8 on the day of the event starting at 7 a.m. Registration proceeds will support nonprofits Fishing for Life and Teen Challenge. mnbound.com
