Summer isn’t over yet, but merchants in downtown Excelsior are clearing the deck for new fall and winter products.
The big clearance sale known as Excelsior Crazy Days has been around for over 10 years, but it’s seeing some changes this year. For one thing, outside vendors won’t be participating. “The focus is truly going to be on a crazy clearance sale, as opposed to it being a street fair,” says Betty Sorensen, Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce membership director and member of the downtown retail committee.
However, because there are stores that don’t participate in the sale, Excelsior businesses who don’t have a Water Street address will still be able to rent a space on the main strip. “We want to give everyone the opportunity to be seen,” Sorensen says.
