Best Friends Make Snacking Easier with Darling Pickle Dips

Darling Pickle Dips are all made with pickled vegetables, cream cheese and white beans.

Sara Doherty and Britt Jungerberg met in the cafeteria at Chaska High School in ninth grade and “have been best friends since,” they say. That years-long friendship was the seed for their joint business venture, too, which launched in 2017 and was inspired by what they call their “favorite pastime:” snacking. “When life got busy and there wasn’t time for sit-down meals…it was a matter of who was bringing the salty snacks and who was bringing the dips. We were so eager to share our pickle dips with the local community,” say Doherty and Jungerberg.

Doherty, who lives in Excelsior, and Jungerberg loved their own dip recipes so much they decided to craft dips for sale—all made with pickled vegetables, cream cheese and white beans. They say the dips are tasty on their own and can also be used as a base for other recipes. Currently, they offer three flavors: original dill pickle, white cheddar and mustard, and spicy pickle.

“When we became busy moms, we needed an easy way to create a spread of food without a lot of work, and our go-to recipe did just that,” they say. Since the launch, Darling Pickle Dips have been showing up on a lot of neighbors’ grocery lists—the dips are available at Kowalski’s Markets, Lunds & Byerlys, Haskell’s and Hy-Vee.
