Winter Trackers

At the Collectors’ Corner, trade in natural curiosity.

Look and listen this winter for rabbit tracks, owl calls and squirrels’ nests. Kids can draw or collect what they observe in nature, submit their findings to the Collectors’ Corner at Highland Park Library or the Science Museum of Minnesota, teach a volunteer about what they bring in, earn points and barter those points for other submitted sketches, dioramas, photos—or for the objets de nature themselves: a deer skull, a fossil or other item (including rocks and Baggies of air).

Since 2014, the Collectors’ Corner has attracted 25to 60 kids to Highland Park Library every Wednesday, 4–7 p.m., and is seeking volunteers for its Winter Tracks and Signs series.
