February 14 is a day for romance—and a fragrant bouquet of flowers is a time-honored way of saying “I love you.” Red roses are popular, of course, but “Valentine’s Day is not just red roses,” says Mary Becker, wedding and event designer at Westdale Floral Home & Garden in Minnetonka. If you’re looking for something out-of-the-box, think purple (Phalaenopsis) orchids (a Westdale costumer favorite), cherry and orange tulips, pink hydrangeas or a tropical mix of lilies. Westdale, which is now run by new owners John and Paula Sroka, has international delivery services, so your bouquet can reach even a far-abroad love. Becker recommends sending your flowers early, “so your valentine can enjoy them for the whole week.”
