Dakota Rail Regional Trail plans for 2012 and beyond.
Last year, seven paved miles were added to the 13.5 miles of the Dakota Rail Regional Trail, a multi-use recreation path connecting Hennepin and Carver counties. This spring brings another project, adding five-and-a-half miles of trail that, come fall, will allow trail-users to travel near the McLeod County border, says Lenny Klevan Schmitz, Carver County park operations coordinator.
While no other plans are official, Klevan Schmitz says ideas in the works include extending the trail to Hutchinson and adding scenic overlooks. co.carver.mn.us/parks
