After hunting for senior living with his father—a frustrating process—designer and developer Daniel Anderson was determined to craft something better. “A condominium is just a glorified apartment,” Anderson says. His new venture, Serenity Resort Senior Living, goes beyond that. The property is inspired by the glory days of Lake Minnetonka summering: think gingerbread trim, James J. Hill, steamboats and country clubs. Serenity will be tucked away on Halstead Bay in Minnetrista and will break ground this spring. The 70 units will each boast 10-foot ceilings and a large wraparound porch. “We want our homeowners to tell us what they want,” Anderson says. Amenities will include a library, pool, putting green, tennis court, garden, walking paths and—of course—Lake Minnetonka.
