A short drive 20 minutes west of Lake Minnetonka, you will find a one-of-a-kind gem in its 16th year of business . . . a little place called Top Dog Country Club, where “It’s All About the Dogs . . . where they are the #1 priority in every decision.”
“That unshakeable promise makes business decisions simple . . . if it does not benefit the dogs, it is probably unnecessary.”
In the fresh air of this beautiful country setting, away from traffic, exhaust, and city noise; at the end of Vega Avenue, you also find a former vice president of Marriott Hotels, “Lead Dog” Jean Stelten-Beuning, living her passion. Days are spent caring for guests with schedules customized to their needs whether 8 weeks or 19 years of age. That’s right, young dogs learn social skills, old dogs benefit from mental stimulation, and all enjoy the exercise.
20+ adult staff, with a ratio of 1 human per 5-8 dogs; including vet techs, groomers, and trainers serve the guests 15+ hours each day; with 5-6 hours group play, 24, 000 sq. ft. outdoor yards, a 34-ft heated swimming pool, special K9 turf, an indoor playroom, afternoon “Yappy Hour,” and bedtime stories.
Top Dog, the first club of its kind, attracted international attention from Discovery Channel, the New York Times, and NBC’s Today Show. Clients even drive and fly their dogs from across the country (Want us to do the driving? . . . A dog lover will come get your pups) to experience the “Top Dog Difference”; the facility, the staff, the passion, and delivery of our values:
- Act with Honesty and Integrity . . . Always!
We deliver what we promise and if we make an error we own it.
- Do the Right Thing . . . Without Compromise!
We treat your “furry kids” like our own and make decisions accordingly.
- Provide Value . . . Deliver more than is Expected
In addition to 5-6 hours of group play each day we invest in teaching and training them.
Top Dog gives pet parents peace of mind when they travel, knowing their dogs are safe, happy and having the vacation of their lives!
