Former NFL football player Randall McDaniel changes lives by teaching others.
Sports and school happen to be the two passions of Randall McDaniel’s life. McDaniel, a former offensive guard for the Vikings, used to dedicate his days to the field but now commits his time to the classroom. Since 2008, McDaniel has been a full-time paraprofessional at Hilltop Primary School in Mound.
Football provided the platform that McDaniel uses to make a difference in the lives of others. For those of you who value education and want to take a few simple actions, he has a few suggestions:
- Attend as many teacher conferences as you do extracurricular activities.
- Know your children’s teacher as well as you know their coaches.
- Have as many conversations about homework as you do about their sports, music and other activities.
