A proposed scenic byway would guide guests and residents to the lake’s best views.
A scenic byway in the lake area has been proposed in order to better direct people to the best route for viewing the lake.
Laura Hotvet, director of the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce, says she often is asked what the most scenic route is around the lake, which is why added signage on current roads might be beneficial. “If done with a collaborative spirit, this could definitely be a win-win for all of us,” says Hotvet.
The city of Wayzata is also interested in looking further into the possibility of such a plan, according to Heidi Nelson, Wayzata city manager.
