#senior year When asked how high school has changed her, Imogene replies, “How hasn’t high school changed me?” She says “high school has forced me to tackle new challenges daily and made my weeks go by so fast [from being so busy], but I love it.”
#the intern As an intern at Urban Roots (an East Side youth gardening program that teaches young people about healthy communities and entrepreneurship), Imogene says she’s learned many skills and counts the experience as “a very important part of my life.” She says, “I do lots of work outside in the gardens. I also [spend time talking to people] and creating connections with restaurants, or selling produce at the farmers market.”
#goals Imogene is aiming for the stars—literally. “The engineering job of my dreams is to work for NASA and build rockets,” she says. In elementary school at Farnsworth Aerospace Magnet, Imogene discovered her love for space and science—she’s visited NASA in both Florida and Texas. “I’m going to keep trying my best in school, and hoping a little luck helps me along the way,” she says.
#very important person Imogene says it’s her best friend, Elizabeth. “We literally say things at the same time,” says Imogene. Friends since third grade, Imogene calls Elizabeth “my No.1 supporter” behind her parents. “We do everything together and are rather competitive,” Imogene says. “I can’t imagine where I’d be without her.”
