Talk about happily ever after. Recently Stages Theatre Company and the city of Hopkins renewed the theater’s lease, allowing the group to stay in the Hopkins Center for the Arts for another 15 years. The negotiation was a collaborative effort, aligning the missions of each party involved. The Hopkins Center for the Arts remains dedicated to building community through arts, while the city of Hopkins aims to provide exceptional service to tenants, says Stages managing director John Montilino, “embodying the importance of and Stages appreciation for the beautiful and functional theater building in downtown Hopkins”—both of which enable Stages Theatre Company the opportunity to continue capturing the attention of the (to-date) more than 125,000 young people and their families through workshops, productions, classes and other outreach programs.
