The luck of the Irish will be in great supply in downtown Saint Paul on St. Patrick’s Day. The Irish Music and Dance Association (IMDA) will host the 34th annual Landmark Center St. Patrick’s Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 17. The event has become an annual tradition for thousands from Saint Paul and the greater Twin Cities area. Four stages feature local Irish dancers and musicians, as well as speakers, Irish food, kids’ crafts and an Irish marketplace.

If you’re looking to get an early start on the St. Patrick’s Day spirit, the IMDA hosts the 14th annual Day of Irish Dance, co-produced with the Landmark Center as part of Sundays at Landmark, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 15, also at Landmark Center, featuring music and food.

Lisa Conway, IMDA president, says that the St. Patrick’s Day celebration and Day of Irish Dance are part of the organization’s efforts to preserve Irish culture in Minnesota. Event proceeds support the IMDA’s educational grant program, which helps students of all ages pursue traditional Irish arts.

Tickets for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration and Day of Irish Dance can be purchased at the door; the cost is $4 for students and seniors, and $6 for adults.
