This past spring break, I had the opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime: a 10-day trip to Spain. I had been preparing for a trip like this since I started Spanish Immersion in kindergarten. I have always loved both speaking and learning Spanish, and to end my eighth-grade year, and my eleventh year of Spanish, it seemed perfect. Another great part of the trip was that I got to travel with my best friends. We visited a total of four cities; Granada and Toledo were my favorites. In Granada, there were incredible places to tour and cultural places where we were really able to see what daily life is like. In Toledo, we stayed with host families with whom we had been communicating long before the trip. My host sister’s name was Leonor, and she lives with her parents, her little sister and her little brother. They showed me so many cultural things about the city of Toledo, and gave me insider tips on what was going on in the city. Overall, it was such an amazing trip, and I wouldn’t trade those 10 days for anything in the world.
