Based in Wayzata, the two-generation family business is a full service design build contractor with a focus on custom new construction, whole house renovations and additions. Opened in 2006 by Dan Vanderheyden, the full-service team also includes his sons, Nick, Vice President of Operations, and Ben, Director of Sales and Marketing.
Let’s be honest—remodeling or building a home are massive undertakings. Thoughtfully taking clients through the process is a cornerstone of Black Dog Homes’ mission. “As a family-owned business, we strive to make the process as understandable, easy and fun as possible for you and your family,” Dan says “Integrity, professionalism and your satisfaction are at the core of what we do.”
“We orchestrate a design team of trusted architectural and interior design partners at the first walk through with our clients,” Ben says. “Clients take us through their vision, and we go to work formulating their dream space.”
Taking a strong foothold in the home design and build arena, Black Dog Homes is honored to have two of its projects chosen as Dream Homes in the Parade of Homes (2021: new construction and 2018: remodel). This fall’s homes tour will feature a new construction project near Gray’s Bay.
