Academy for students with autism moves to Minnetonka

Academy of Whole Learning opened its doors in Minnetonka in 2017, to welcome more students after moving from its St. Louis Park location, which originally opened in 2003. “We are celebrating our 15th anniversary,” head of school Wyayn Rasmussen says.

The school puts its focus on individualized learning for students with autism and other learning disabilities. Rasmussen says, “Every student at Academy of Whole Learning is on their own education plan."

The class sizes are small, typically with seven to nine students in each. The school also offers therapies, both for students and for children who might attend school elsewhere. “We are more than a school. We have a very holistic outlook,” Rasmussen says. —AG
