Tyler and Mitchell Harris spent a summer taking classes at the Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. They’ve taken an online course from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and participated in classes at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
The kicker is these twin brothers are 17-year-old seniors at Minnetonka High School.
And while their summers are filled with intense college courses, their school-year load is equally demanding. They play on the football team, are enrolled in eight advanced placement classes, maintain their 4.0-plus GPAs, work part-time jobs and participate in a plethora of other activities, all while applying to different colleges.
“I believe idle time is wasted time,” says Mitchell Harris. “That’s my philosophy. We’re here to make an impact on the world, and to make the most of your ability you should be involved in as much as you can.”
The boys hope to attend college together at The Wharton School in 2013.
