Lisa Persson and a friend were strolling around Lake Minnetonka near sunset when Persson noticed the lake was very still—so still, in fact, that a perfect reflection of the setting sun was mirrored in the calm lake water. Her friend wanted to get a closer look and, according to Persson, “inadvertently set up this silhouette shot.”
Never one to miss a photo opportunity, the Minnetonka resident ran to her car to retrieve the camera she’d happened to bring along that evening. “I raced back to get the shot before the sun went down,” Persson says. “The beauty of Lake Minnetonka is always enhanced in the hours when the sky meets the water, and I am glad I was able to capture a piece of it in this image.”
Congratulations to Persson and her image “Reflection” on being selected for our Last Glance page. Look for the judges’ favorite photos from the Lens on the Lake Minnetonka photo contest to grace this page throughout the year.
