On average it takes 40 gallons of sap to produce one gallon of syrup; that’s like filling a garbage can for a milk jug! This month, when the sap is at its sweet peak, head over to Lowry Nature Center for a maple syrup tapping program, and learn how sap is turned into that sweet syrup you love pouring over a stack of pancakes. From finding maple trees to tapping, boiling and tasting the syrup, these programs are sure to be as fun as they are educational.
