Renaissance man Anders Gulbrandson is a musician, an aspiring astronaut, a member of the German club and a beekeeper with his own honey business, Tanglewood Farms Honey.
What sets you apart from your peers?
I believe my distinction as a student stems from my well-rounded interests and strengths.
What inspires your love of music?
Definitely my dad’s love for classic rock; as for a single point in my life, hearing Green Day’s “Holiday” for the first time and then learning to play it on the drum set really made music an integral part of who I am.
Who is your favorite musician?
Without a doubt, Flea from The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
How did you get into beekeeping?
My grandfather, Jim Lehmann, was a beekeeper for 20 years. After an accident involving an angry hive and a torn bee suit, however, he decided to teach me the hobby so that I could continue his legacy.
If you were running for president in 2020, what would your campaign slogan be?
“Make America Bee Happy Again!”
Do you have a favorite memory of time spent on Lake Minnetonka?
Fishing with my best friend, Zach Adams, all day for muskies. Even though we never catch anything, these memories will stay with me for the rest of my life.
