You know how New Year’s resolutions go: We vow to work out, eat healthy, travel and so on. Abi Zechmeister, color programs supervisor for Twin Cities district at Sherwin Williams in Minnetonka, believes your home should get a fresh start, too. And perhaps the easiest way to refresh the vibe of a room is with a coat of paint.
What’s trending for 2018? The color graige, says Zechmeister, a gray tone with hints of beige. She predicts graige will replace the recent blue-gray fad and take its place among easy-to-coordinate, calming neutrals. To complement graige walls, Zechmeister recommends adding pops of deep blue or blue-green with throw pillows and vases. Also trending this year is white-on-white-on-white. This trend is a nod to laid-back California and is easy to implement in your own abode. “The wall may be one shade of white, the accents another, and the furniture another,” says Zechmeister. “But they all complement each other.”
