Don’t miss the eighth annual Long Lake Art Show on November 11 at Orono High School. The art show first began as an art crawl in 2010 but has grown into an established fair, with more than 30 local and regional artists participating in the show.

The show features a variety of mediums and artists, including the two artists who originated the art show, Shakun Maheshwari and Maggie Merkow. Maheshwari, originally from India, shares her heritage through beautiful temporary henna tattoos. Artist Carol Coleman turns antique furniture into canvases for her paintings.

The Westside Art Guild will also have a booth at the event, featuring members including Sonja Hutchinson, president of the Minnesota Watercolor Society, and Chris Bruce, a former science teacher, who creates unique designs inspired by natural patterns. Lonnie Broden, former exhibit designer at the Science Museum of Minnesota, will display prints that mix painting with photography, and Ron Timm will present his photography. At other booths, visitors can browse and select paintings, photographs, pottery, garden art, jewelry, glass pieces, wood art and more.

The show also includes music, coffee and light snacks—so make a day of it.
