From sticky fingers to kitchen countertops, our electronic devices are exposed to it all. It can be difficult to find products that will get our tablets and smartphones completely clean without damaging screens and delicate hardware.
Enter Spruce & Co., a cleaning products company founded by Excelsior native Jill Applebaum and her close friend Jill Ressler. The duo sells screen-cleaning wipes that are vegan, made in the United States, and free of alcohol, ammonia and fragrance. “There are no harsh chemicals in our wipes and they are individually wrapped, making them easy to bring with you on-the-go,” says Applebaum. She and Ressler met while studying at Harvard Business School and quickly bonded over their germophobic tendencies. “We teamed up while we were still students to lay the groundwork for Spruce & Co., and after graduating in 2015 we started working on the business full time from New York,” Applebaum says. So far, their primary products are screen-cleaning wipes, but they plan to release other offerings soon.
