Dust off your cross-country gear to glide on the first powder of the winter.
Welcome, November! Local cross-country ski fanatics have been staying in shape all summer and fall, and await the first snowfall of the year.
Ann Schinas, cross-country ski coordinator for Three Rivers Park District, says that when nature cooperates, nothing beats the trails at Carver Park. “When nature does dump some snow, the trails out there are fabulous, because there’s a great combination of beginner, intermediate and advanced trails.” The park reserve offers 11.3 miles of trails that take skiers through the picturesque woodland area.
Ski rentals are available on weekends only; day passes $6. For more information, visit the website here.
